Sally’s caramels have always been a hit. Every year she would make them for close family and friends around Christmas time. Sally was constantly being told that she should sell her carmels because they were just too good.

Enter 2020 and the global pandemic and, after months of everything being shut down, Sally finally decided to give the people what they wanted. With a spur of the moment decision, registration as a Minnesota cottage food producer, a food safety course and a quick Facebook post, Sally let all her friends and family know her caramels were up for sale.

Before she knew it, she was making hundreds of caramels for hungry buyers just hours after the post went up. Customers who had never tried her caramels previously were getting so hooked, they were placing a second order before they had even left her driveway with their first. People from out of state were begging her to allow bags to be shipped out. Everyone wanted to get their hands on her goodies.

Thus Salty Sisters Sweets was born.
